The Curtain Hotel and Private Members Club will open early this year. Featuring a roof top swimming pool, private screening room and The Red Rooster restaurant, The Curtain will be a corner of Manhattan cool in Shoreditch. Michael Achenbaum, the man responsible for some of New York’s most fashionable hotels, brings NYC to London with The Curtain Hotel and Private Members Club, run by his Gansevoort Hotel Group. With a gym designed by Jon Squirrel of The Vault, art curated by Steve Lazarides gallery owner best known for his role as Banksy’s agent, and photography by Mick Rock, The Curtain scores high in the rock ‘n’ roll stakes. Think Soho House with a New York accent. Seventy million pounds has been spanked on the project and you can see where it’s gone The Curtain Hotel will feature 120 guest rooms, including six suites, rooftop swimming pool and lounge, spa, 24-hour fitness centre, and more than 6,000 square feet of meeting and event space including ballroom and screening room. The Curtain Members will have access to all hotel areas as well as additional restaurant and bar spaces.
