What we know: The team behind Duck & Waffle are opening Duck & Waffle Local in St James’s Market. The 120-cover restaurant will offer a faster and more affordable experience, where you can order your food at the counter or pop in for takeaway. Chef Director Dan Doherty will be at the helm, serving food from 8am through till 1am, with Head of Spirit and Cocktail Development Rich Woods behind the drinks. Signature dishes like the duck and waffle and BBQ spiced pigs ears will also be available.

MISTER LASAGNA BELGRAVIA – 23 Elizabeth Street, Belgravia

What we know: Mister Lasagna’s third London restaurant opening, will see their signature meals served daily with twenty four lasagne prepared fresh. New additions for this opening include two new dessert lasagne; Nutella and Oreo.

BUN HOUSE  – Bun House & Tea Room 23-24 Greek Street Soho London W1

What we know: Bun House is a new Chinese steamed bun cafe opening in Soho. Taking inspiration from the Hong Kong tea houses of the 1960’s, as well as the country’s open street stalls known as “dai pai dong”, the design for Bun House infuses British colonial elements with traditional Chinese essence. Downstairs you’ll find the Tea Room, a Chinese speakeasy basement bar.

FOXLOW SOHO – Foxlow Soho, 8-10 Lower James Street, Soho, W1F 9EL

What we know: Foxlow are opening a fourth site in Soho. Adding to existing restaurants in Clerkenwell, Balham and Chiswick, the Soho restaurant will have 120-covers made up of eclectic seating across the ground floor and basement. Classic meaty dishes will remain on the menu from brunch through to dinner, with an expanded cocktail list. 50% off food during soft launch.

THE IVY CAFE RICHMOND – 9-11 Hill Street, Richmond, TW9 1SX

What we know: The latest Ivy Cafe is opening in Richmond. Open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the cafe-brasserie will serve classic British and international Ivy dishes across the main restaurant, bar and private dining room.

STOKE HOUSE  – Nova Building, 81 Buckingham Palace Road, Victoria, SW1W 0AJ

What we know: Stoke House is set to open in Nova, this month, the latest project from Will Ricker of Ricker Restaurants. It’ll be a modern take on the great British cavery. Heading up the kitchen will be Pete Denhart, the acclaimed former Head Chef of Fitzrovia’s The Newman Arms. Meats will include slow roasted Welsh lamb belly, rare Cornish barrel rump and slowly smoked aged Ruby Red Suffolk beef short rib.

What we know: Soho is getting a new pizza place. Firezza will offer sharing sized pizzas, antipasti, Italian beer and carafes of wine with prompt service and at affordable prices.

THE GLADSTONE ARMS IN BOROUGH – 64 Lant Street, Borough, SE1 1QN

What we know: Historic Borough pub The Gladstone Arms is reopening in spring after a complete refurbishment since closing last summer. Young entrepreneurs Megha Khanna, Gaurav Khanna and Abhinav Saxena are behind the refurb, bringing a local favourite back to life.

TAMARIND KITCHEN – 167-169 Wardour Street, Soho, W1F 8WR

What we know: The team behind Michelin-starred Tamarind in Mayfair is opening a more casual outpost, Tamarind Kitchen, in Soho this spring. The 100-cover restaurant has been designed by Russell Sage Studios and will serve contemporary Indian dishes, many prepared in the Tandoor oven.

NUMBER 177 BAR & KITCHEN – 177 Hoxton Street, Hoxton, N1 6PJ

What we know: The Number Group (Number 90 Bar & Kitchen, Hackney Wick) are opening Number 177 Bar & Kitchen in Hoxton. The 350-capacity venue is inspired by the bars of Berlin, with tables that fold up to clear way for a dance floor and vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free dishes alongside burgers, cocktails and craft beers. Number 177 will welcome local and international artists, DJs and musicians, whilst playing host to numerous creative workshops, pub quizzes and bingo events.

ANDI’S – 176 Stoke Newington Church Street, Stoke Newington, N16 0JL

What we know: Andi Oliver, judge on Great British Menu is opening Andi’s, an all-day brunch and brasserie spot in Stoke Newington. Expect brunch dishes like baked eggs, energy bowls and Reuben salt beef sandwiches. Andi will open Andi’s with long-term business partner Kelly Miles. Opening in March, exact date TBC.
